Palmaidan in Doodhpathri, also known as the 'Valley of Milk', is a serene alpine valley in Kashmir, India. Located in Budgam district, it sits at an altitude of 8,957 feet above sea level. Enveloped by lush meadows and edged by dense forests of pine, it presents a landscape that is simultaneously tranquil and majestic. With the Shaliganga River meandering through, the valley boasts vibrant greenery during summer, which turns into a snowy wonderland in winter. Traditionally, it is known for its rich pastoral land where shepherds graze their flocks. The place is still untouched by commercial tourism, which keeps its beauty pristine. As a travel destination, Doodhpathri offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle of city life. The name 'Doodhpathri' is indicative of the milky white water of the river, which is believed to have medicinal properties. Palmaidan specifically is known for its flat stretches of lush grasslands, perfect for picnics and outdoor activities.
